Statement from the Artist
Rugs seem like a calling to me. My Great Aunt, a weaver in Mpls, was in an assisted living facility that had a loom, and I have three rag rugs that she wove. I treasure them, and was influenced and inspired by her weaving. I learned the taqueté technique at a class with Madelyn Van der Hoogt, and wanted to translate it into a rug.
