Nine small woven rectangles, each a grid of checkers, with various edge treatments on top and bottom: tails, braids, and fringe. Four are consistent throughout: purple and black, red and brown, black and white, brown and taupe. The others have bands of color that change along the vertical axis.

Statement from the Artist
6 of 36 ruglets woven four at a time on my floor loom. I also call them 'hypothetical rugs' and 'the ideas of rugs' because they are small, like maquettes, and hang on the wall as objects of contemplation. I like to think that home is as much an idea, a belief, as it as a reality. What is the scale of our imagination?
