A small woven rectangle divided into three irregular bands loosely resembling: sky in white, mountain in red, and water in blue. Densely woven, but delicate to the touch.

Statement from the Collector
Mae gave this piece to me as a gift when she was living in Newburgh, NY. I can’t exactly remember when she gave it to me—maybe for my birthday? Our birthdays are both in late July. Or maybe a time when I came to visit her early on in the pandemic in 2020? I have very specific memories of that trip. She made us lunch of tuna salad and banana bread. I remember thinking how hearty of a lunch it was. We took a walk in the people’s park and she said hello to everyone we passed. We watched an amazing documentary, Honeyland and I slept on her famed tri fold mattress. It was a good trip that made me feel less lonely during an exceptionally lonely and challenging time.
